Surf spots and Beaches in North Padre Island

North Packery channel Jetties

This spot is located on the north side of the Packery channel jetties. It was formed with the construction of Packery channel in 2006, and is the separating line between Mustang and North Padre island. The break here is protected from the wind and current, usually from the south, and can produce some great, clean waves. This area can get very crowded though, especially during the spring and summer months.

South Packery Jetties

On the other side of the jetties is south Packery beach. This side of the jetties often gets good if there is a north wind and/ or swell, usually after cold fronts or sometimes if there is a storm in the Gulf. It does not normally get as crowded as the north side.

Bob Hall Pier

Further south down the beach is Bob Hall pier. This spot is a favorite of many surfers and can be the most competitive and crowded surf spot in the area, especially during the summer and on holidays. Bob Hall Pier can hold very large surf, and is sometimes breaking the best when other spots are not working well.

Seawall and Whitecap beach

This area is in front of and next to the seawall and is situated between Packery Channel and Bob Hall Pier . This is an open beach break and is usually smaller and choppier than the other popular breaks but can be fun if conditions are right.
